BoxTalk · v0.1.1
Your browser, out loud.
Multi-engine local text-to-speech, paired with a Chrome extension that
pipes any page or selection to your desktop. Pick your engine —
Kokoro for speed,
VibeVoice for fidelity.
No cloud, no API key, no telemetry.
After install
The build is unsigned, so macOS Gatekeeper will say
"BoxTalk is damaged and can't be opened". It isn't damaged —
that's just the message Apple Silicon shows for any app downloaded from
the web without an Apple Developer signature. Drag BoxTalk to
Applications first, then run this once in Terminal to clear the
quarantine flag:
xattr -dr com.apple.quarantine /Applications/BoxTalk.app
After that, BoxTalk launches normally and every future update too. The
right-click → Open trick does not help with the "is damaged"
variant on Apple Silicon.
